ThixOtak: A high performance multi-purpose extreme temperature stringy grease using an overbased calcium sulfonate thickener, tackifiers and advanced lubricant chemistry .
ThixOtak2 is a high performance multipurpose extreme temperature stringy grease that excels in extreme conditions. Combining advanced EP/AW chemistry with the unique properties of an overbased calcium sulfonate thickener. The use of a tackifier helps the grease stay put in exposed and open gear applications. The low oil separation rate of ThixOtak2 facilitates the use of a high index low viscosity base oil over traditional grease formulations reducing starting and running torque. Advanced EP/AW chemistry provides superior high load and extreme pressure protection to over 1.4 GPa without the use of solid lubricants such as molybdenum compounds. ThixOtak2's unique chemistry provides excellent low temperature pumpability and superior stability at high temperatures and has a dropping point >300 C. ThixOtak2's multipurpose use reduces friction and lubricates rolling element bearings under high speed conditions and superior performance in heavily loaded sliding mechanisims. ThixOtak2 may be applied using conventional greasing equipment including centralized and automated greasing systems. To be used in applications requiring EP greases and can be used as a substitute for applications recommending high moly content. Meets or exceeds grease performance requirements of all major equipment manufacturers.
ThixOtak2 is used in agriculture, industrial, manufacturing, marine, forestry, mining, mobile and heavy equipment for all types of bearings, chassis, universal joints, pins, bushings, king pins and valves. Excellent performance in high and low speed bearings, precision bearings, in wet and corrosive environments, and at extreme high and low temperatures. Base oil does not separate (less than 0.27% loss following ASTM D1742). Performance specifications are superior to most conventional lithium or polyurea based market greases.
