ThixOfood (Food Grade Grease): A high performance food grade grease using an overbased calcium sulfonate thickener, white oil and advanced lubricant chemistry.
ThixOfood (PowerUp Food Grade Grease) is a high performance multipurpose food grade grease that excels in extreme conditions. ThixOfood has been approved for "incidental food contact" (NSF H1); FDA regulations require that food handling equipment be operated with proper manufacturing practices to keep the amount of lubricant in the food below 10ppm. Combining advanced EP/AW chemistry with the unique properties of an overbased calcium sulfonate thickener. The low oil separation rate of ThixOfood facilitates the use of a high index low viscosity white oil over traditional grease formulations reducing starting and running torque. Advanced EP/AW chemistry provides superior high load and extreme pressure protection to over 1.4 GPa without the use of solid lubricants such as molybdenum compounds.
ThixOfood's unique chemistry provides excellent low temperature pumpability and superior stability at high temperatures and has a dropping point >300 C. ThixOfood's multipurpose use reduces friction and lubricates rolling element bearings under high speed conditions and superior performance in heavily loaded sliding mechanisims, allowing it to replace greases of unknown or questionable purity. Suitable for plain and anti-friction bearings, slides, guides, beverage processing such as seamers and closers and other moving parts. Consistency is a NLGI#2
ThixOfood may be applied using conventional greasing equipment including centralized and automated greasing systems. To be used in applications requiring in food processing plants, where EP, high quality and high temperature greases are necessary. Meets or exceeds grease performance requirements of all major equipment manufacturers.
ThixOfood can be used as a multipurpose grease in any food processing or machinery application requiring an H1 grease or where incidental food contact may occur. High temperature utilization is only limited by the oxidation resistance of the white oil and not by the dropping point of the grease. Excellent performance in high and low speed bearings, precision bearings, in wet environments, and at extreme high and low temperatures. Base oil does not separate (less than 0.1% loss following ASTM D1742). Performance specifications are superior to most conventional lithium or polyurea based market greases.
